FAIR CONDITIONS The following is the weather fore cast for 24 nours from 9 a.in. this day and issued at noon:— The indications are for variable and moderate breezes, southerly moderate prevailing. There is a prospect of fair to cloudy weather. The barometer is rising slowly. FINE IN MOST DISTRICTS Following is the Government meton? ologist’s weather report and fore cast, issued last nightrAn intense anti-cyclone is centred in the south Tasman Sea, and extends from eastern Australia to beyond New Zealand. A slight, depression is passingeast of Norfolk Island to-day. Winds variable with southerly to south-easterly prevailing, light to moderate generally, but fresh to strong in the far north. Seas rather rough north .of East Cape; elsewhere smooth to moderate in New Zealand waters. Light to moderate south-east winds in the eastern Tasman Sea, and smooth to moderate seas. Weather fine in most, districts, but •some showers still likely in North Auckland and at isolated places in the Bay of Plenty and Gisborne districts. Cool night temperatures with many frosts, especially in the South Island.
