MUNICIPAL THEATRE
A SPLENDID PICTURE
TO-NIGHT AND TO-MORROW
NIGHT AT 8
Lawrence Tibctt will gain a good many more admirers as a result of "'The Prodigal,” his latest starring vehicle. A story of the old south, the picture teems with colourful incident and there are a host of delightful interludes, not the least enjoyable of which is the great singer’s songs. A negro spiritual sequence towards the end is particularly stirring. The dialogue has been written by one who knows how to get the laughs and Cliff Edwards and Roland Young as Tibbett’s tramp companions, make most effoctix o use of them. Opposite to Tibbott, Esther Ralston gives a, splendid performance and Furncll Pratt and Hedda Hopper also return satisfactory parts. "The Prodigal” will be shown at the Waipukurau Theatre to-night (Tuesday) and Wednesday evenings. The supporting programme includes a colourful revuo and a "Flip the Frog’’'’ cartoon. Reserves may be made by ringing Wood’s Music Depot, phone 29 IS. SATURDAY NEXT "The Yankee at King Arthur’s Court,” a new and merry comedy of old and merry England from Alark Twain’s novel.
