WAIPUKURAU BOROUGH
REPORT OF INSPECTOR FOR PAST MONTH Reporting to the Waipukurau Borough Council which met last night Inspector J. Gardner dealt with general matters as follow: —■ Water Reticulation For the month of April tho centrifugal pump ran 133 f hours. The number of units of electricity used was 6186 and the estimated amount of water pumped was 2,655,000 gallons. For the corresponding period last year the centrifugal pump ran 147 hours, using 6813 units, and the estimated amount of water pumped was 2940000 gallons. Licenses The following licenses have been issued and fees received: 12 foods shops £11; 7 dangerous goods £l7; 2 plying for hire £2; 5 kerbside pumps, £10; 2" heavy traffic £3 3s 9d; 3 halls, £3; 2 hoardings, £1 10s; 1 saleyard £2 2s. Infectious and Notifiable Diseases No case has been reported within theBorough during the past 21 weeks. General In addition to the ordinary routine work of tho Borough tho following streets have been patched with screened shingle: —Racecourse road, St. Joseph Street, Fleming road, St. Mary’s road, Tamumu road. Water channels have been cleaned and pot holes repaired, in Russell street, Tavistock road, Wallace road. Reservoir road. Ruataniwha street cast and Farm road. Men working on the No. 5 unemployment scheme have been engaged as follows: —• Russell Park. —Cutting down trees, regrading and top-dressing croquet and cricket pitch. Hunter Park. —Digging and weeding. A'Deane Park. —Cutting Grass. Cemetery. —Cleaning up. Cook Street. —Cleaning water course. River Terrace Road. —Cutting down trees and reforming road. Pruningtrees on streets.
