The point score of the match showed: —Crawford 108 points, of which 24 were placements; Morales 84 points, with 12 placements. H. O. Hopman (Australia) defeated Vollmer (Cuba), 6—2, 6 —l, 4 —6, 6 —l. The point score was: Hopman 92, of which 16 were placements; Vollmer, 8 3 points, including 17 placements.

U.S. TO MEET AUSTRALIA
NEW ORLEANS, May 14.
The United States team met Mexico in the Davis Cup series on Friday. Allison (U.S.A.) defeated Ricardo Tapia (Mexica), 6—2, 6—3, 6 —4, and Vines (U.S.A.) defeated Alfonso Unda (Mexico), 6 —l, 6 —2, 6 —4. Van Ryn and Allison (U.S.A.) defeated Tapia and Unda (Mexico), 6 —l, 6—2, 3—6, 9—7. With the Americans’ defeat of Mexico in the Davis Cup round, the United States will now meet Australia at the Philadelphia Country Club, beginning on May 28.

BRITAIN DEFEATS RUMANIA
LONDON, May 14.
In the European Davis Cup contest, Britain eliminated Rumania. Perry (Britain) beat Mishu (Rumania), 6 —o, 6 —l, 6—l. David Britain) beat Poulieff (Rumania) 7 —5, 7 —5, 6 —l. Perry and Hughes (Britain) beat Mishu and Poulieff (Rumania), 6 —o, 6—l, 6 —l. Britain’s victory was so easy that it does not solve any Davis Cup problems, notably the doubles pair. There was disappointment in Austin, who, although he has resumed practice, is not fit to partner Perry in the French championships:
