To-day’s Weather Forecast
COASTAL SHOWERS The following is the weather fore cast for 24 nours from 9 a.m. thia day and issued at noon:— The indications are for south-easter-ly winds, moderate prevailing. The weather will probably prove cold and. changeable, with a few coastal showers, but otherwise fine. The night promises to be very cold, with frosts inland. The barometer is rising slowly. UNSETTLED CONDITIONS Following is the Government meteor ologist’s weather report and forecast, issued last night: — A very intense anti-cyclone with its centre in the south-west Tasman Sea extends from south-eastern Australia to New Zealand. Winds still south to south-east moderate to strong but decreasing slowly. Seas rather rough to rough south of Farewell Spit and Kaikoura, and a considerable southerly swell elsewhere in New Zealand waters, moderating gradually. Fresh but decreasing southerly winds in the eastern Tasman Sea; seas rather rough, with a heavy southerly swell, but moderating. Weather mainly fine, but still a few scattered coastal showers. Temperatures cold With frosts inland.
