ON A NATIONAL BASIS
} RELIEF WORKERS’ STRIKE
OUT-DOOR MEETINGS • PROHIBITED
(Per Press Association) WELLINGTON, This Day.
Another large meeting of relief strikers was held at the Trades Hall this morning.
Two delegates from relief workers on strike at Christchurch, were present and addressed the meeting. They gave an assurance of whole-hearted support and asked that the fight be made on a national basis. It was stated that satisfactory arrangements had been made to meet organised labour bodies with a view to obtaining their assistance. Permission to hold a. meeting at the Basin Reserve to-morrow, has been refused. The commissioner of police says that in view of recent happenings it is considered unwise to allow large gatherings of men at the present time. If they wished to hold meetings in- their<own halls that was a different matter.
