A Magistrate Wonders
NOT MORE PROSECUTIONS AGAINST MUD-SPLASHING MOTORISTS. (Per Press Association) CHRISTCHURCH, Last Night. A City Council traffic inspector was keeping an eye on a motorist travelling along the Riccarton road recently when one driver came along, ran through a muddy puddle, and splashed him. “Got the lot” complained the inspector, “I was in a mess.”
As a result, John K. McAlpine, cl station owner was to-day fined 20s ana costs by Mr E. D. Mosley, S.M., for failing to exercise sufficient care and splashing pedestrians. ‘•'lt is a wonder to me,” said the Magistrate, “there have not been more prosecutions under this section. Some people are very careless and inconsiderate.”
