EASTER PAIRS TOURNAMENT. COMPETITION AT WAIPUKURAU. Favoured with a fine day the Waipukurau Bowling Club’s Easter Pairs tournament was commenced yesterday morning. The greens, which have greatly benefited by the recent rains, were in perfect playing condition and some close and interesting games were played. There was a large attendance of local players, and also visitors from- Waipawa, Wellington, Napier and Port Ahuriri took part. Prior to the commencement of play tire club's president, Mr W. FI. L. Williams, extended a hearty welcome to the visitors and expressed the hope that they would thoroughly enjoy the tournament. The following are the results of yesterday's play: — FIRST ROUND.
