— |»lll» > ■■■■! R ■» 1 ■■» MAN WHO SHOOTS CANINE FINED. OWNER OF SHEEP-WORRYING DOG ALSO FINED. John Wilkinson, a Mamphole farmer, finding dogs worrying his sheep gave eliase and shot one dog. He was charged at Ponefraet with unlawfully killing tho dog, and .'t was argued that as the dog was not worrying the sheep at the t ine he shot it, he- was guilty. The chairman of the Bench, Mr Tempest, who is chairman also of ’.he West Riding Quarter Sessions, ana the majority of the Bench held that Wilkinson had no right to kill the dog. He differed from them. Wilk nson wan fined £2. Benjamin Parkin, the owner of the dog, and William Stonier, both of Solth Elmsail, were fined £5 each for their dogs having worried Wilkinson’s sheep.
