TO-DAY’S EVIDENCE. NO SMELL OF BURNING FLESH* (Per Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, This day. Cross examined, Lucy Prosser said that she did not smell anything like burning flesh from the Are on the tettion, Witness had seen the trunks of clothes which Mrs Mouat had bought in London, She had not taken those into consideration when accounting for Mrs Mouat’s clothes. On the Saturday she noticed a cut on M.ouat’s arm near the wrist, Mrs Mouat had been depressed at times. Detective Thompson , evidenced finding the bones. Cross examined, he said that all the bones, except those in the grate, were found in the dug part, of the section or in a large heap of refuse, WERE HUMAN RUNES. PROFESSER LOWLAND’S STATEMENT. Professor Gowland, ofthe iOtago University, gave evidence that the police forwarded him 31 bones, which he considered human. The collar bone in the collection was broken, but the. two parts fitted. All the bones had been burned
