CARNIVAL NOTES.

DATES TO REMEMBER. Civil Service Quen— Wednesday, July 30, Grand Dance. CIVIL SERVICE QUEEN. To-night the Temporary Town Hall will be a scene of gaeity and animation for the occasion of the Civil Service dance. The executive reports all arrangements up to the mark, and a great time is promised for those attending. Good floor, good music and good supper will all combine to make the dance an epoch making event 'in the history of such things in Waipuikurau. The euchre party held last Monday provided a success. Prizes were vzon by Miss Moffit and Mr. G. W. Duncan; consolation prizes were won by Mrs Bendeich and Mrs McSkimmltig, The cushion guessing competition was .won by Mr Hammond COUNTRY QUEEN. J The winner of the box of sweets was No. 357 R. Coteley, Wallingford. The 500 tournament will bo continued to-morrow evening in the Masonic r/aJ.I when a pleasant evening can’ be spent by those who attend. Suppecr is provided. Only two nights rcmaiA for the aggregate trophy competition and flae winning of this should prove an interesting competition, , , \
