A HEAVY CROP EXPECTED. NEW YORK, August 9, A three billion (3,000,000,000) bushel corn crop, for the third time in the history of the United States, is estimated by the Department of Agriculture. Aug list is a critical month for the great corn belt in the middle States, but there has been improvement in all the States except Illinois. The spring wheat was severely affected in July by rust, and the production was reduced by twenty-nine million bushels to a total of 262 millions. The preliminary esti mate of the winter wheat is increased by fifteen millions, making the total winter and spring crop 795 milion bushels.
