SUGAR WORKERS’ DISPUTE.
EMPLOYERS RECEIVE AN ULTIAIATUAI. AUCKLAND, August 9. The sugar workers’ dispute has assum ed a more serious aspect as a result ot the failure to achieve a settlement thru ugh the medium of the Conciliation Council. Members of the union have given the employers notice that unless the dispute is settled on the basis of the union’s ■original demands they will cease opera tions at midnight on Auggust 14.
