The Prime Minister intimated, that tlrlie question of site would be reconsidered. From Sainsbury Logan and Williams, re supplementary loan of £l2oo.—Tn? necessary resolution was carried. g From same, re proposed loan of £2OO, 000, for reconstructing bridges through out the county. —It was resolved a preliminary application for same ho e , made. From District Hospital Board, re resignation of Mr L. 11. .McHardy.-. Cr. C. Pattison was appointed to fill the vacancy. ’ From Waipawa Borough. Council, re repairs to Scrimgcour’s mad.—This matter w*as left in the hands of ths road engineer to consult with the borough engineer, with the view of complcteiug thhe work. From Board of Trade, authorising Council to deal with all applications i for erection of dwelling houses ami ] essential farm buildiijgs within its dis- . trict and to issue permits for such ■ work, on behalf of the Board.—Agreed to. From H. O. Lee, re maintenance tele phone lines.—Question left in the hands . of Cr McKay and engineer to arrange. ■> From A. J. Field, inquiring when t bridge over Mangakuri stream is likely , to be completed.—To be informed that work will be put in hand as soon as material can be obtained. From A. D. Wallace, asking foi telephone connection to Omakere.—Referred to Mr W. 11. Burt, Omakere. From B. W. N. Aitken, asking for permission to lower box culvert opposite his residence to prevent storm water backing up to his door.—Granted, subject to engineer’s supervision. From Hawke’s Bay County Council, asking the Council to appoint gates to meet in conference in Napier, with a view to extending the Hawca Road to connect with the Oero district.—Clerk instructed to inquire what the Hawke’s Bay County propose, so that the matter can be placed before the ratepayers of the district affected. From Mr Cordon Lloyd, on behalf of the Daiincvirkc County Council, re bridges on the Dannevirko-Weber road enclosing notice under section 119 of the Public Works Act, 1908 Schedule, showing traffic tallies, along with plans estimates and specifications of the work, stating that the Commissioner had been asked; also asking this council to pay 11 per cent cost of work. — Receipt of same to be acknowledged. From Waipawa Technical Association.—Cr. T. Cutler was reelected to represent this body at the Association. The pay-sheet, amounting to £3604, 3s sd, was passed for payment. The engineer ’s report was read and adopted. NEW RATES. The following new rates will be struck:— Eparaima, 3d in £. Patangata, Id in £. Oero, ,d in £. I’orangaliau, 2d in £.
