ANOTHER NEW IDEA FOR HELPING THE BELGIANS.
There have been very many schemes for raising funds to feed the starving Belgians, some good, some doubtful ; but a novel and praiseworthy suggestion that ought to result in the raising of a considerable sum appears in Everylady’s Journal for May. Miss Mary Card, author of one of the best known books on crochet work and perhaps the most expert crochet work designer in Australia, has designed a doyley in semi-Irish crochet work with an Australian motit. A large photograph of the design appears in Every lady’s Journal, and Miss Card offers to send a photograph of the d’Oyley, and printed directions for its working, to any reader who will post her 7d in stamps. One penny of this pays the postage and the balance of the money goes to the Belgian Fund. Any reader of this paper may take advantage of the offer, and should post 7d in stamps or postal note to Mi.ssj Card, Post Office, Otiuda, Victoria. She will get a delightful d'Oyley design, and at the same time be duuating (id to the Belgian Fund. Fuller details are given in Evcrylady’s Journal of May.
