SWIMMING.
The Woodville Swimming Club brought off the preliminary heats of two races las't night. The finals will be swum off on Thursday evening at 6 o’clock.
Boys’ Race, under 16, two lengths. Ist heat.—A. Cairns, 9secs, 1; D. Laing, scr, 2. Won by a touch. 2nd heat.—A. Barkwith, Bsecs, 1; C. Tyerman, 7secs, 2. Won by a yard.
Club Handicap, two lengths. Ist heat. —Newman, 2secs, 1; D. Goddard, Ssecs, 2. Won easily. 2nd heat.—A. Barkwith, lOsecs, 1; L. Nicholas, scr, 2. Also started D. Laing and A. Cairns. A really interesting go, as a yard would have covered all four at the finish.
