London, June 7, The British Aerial League’s Chairman states that he intends to urge a public subscription of £50,000 to purchase a Zeppelin balloon. Mr Latham, an Englishman, made a flight lasting 67 minutes in the Antoinette monoplane at Marne, beating the French record. Auckland, June 7. The Barnard Brothers had a trial of the aeroplane constructed by them on Brown’s Island on Saturday. Owing to the unfavorable weather the trial was not a success. A short flight was obtained, but a gust of wind caught the ipachine, which was brought to earth rather suddenly and badly damaged.
