Apparently the promoter of the recent big road race from Sale to Prospect, Mr James McLacblan, has been satisfied with the result of bis venture, for he is now applying to the League of Victorian Wheelmen for permission to hold three more road i.-aces in February next. Boad racing is a thing to be encouraged under competent supervision as it tends to promote the pastime without the objectionable features of track competition. Moreover, it encourages fertility of resource, pluck and determination. The races applied for are from Traralgon to Sale; Sale to Bairnsdale ; and Sale to P respect. Prize money totalling £287 will he offered.
