Government Life Department.

TRIENNIAL BONUS ALLOTMENT,

Wellington, This day,

The triennial actuarial investigation of the Government Insurance Department due at the end of 1905 has been finished and has resulted in a net cash surplus of £178,994 which has been divided amongst policy holders. The bonus is equivalent in addition to sums assured at death or maturity amounting to £302,910. The bonus is allotted as a percent«ge of the sum assured, and previous bonuses in force, and is in the general section in which the vast majority of assurances have been effected’. They are on a slightly lower scale than formerly, but it is explained that this is not necessarily the result of higher moitality than in the general section, but is due to the preponderance of endowment assurances and other exceptional circumstances.
