THE STOCK MARKET,

Messrs Abraham & Williams, Ltd., report as follows : —At Palmerston on Thursday we had a fair entry of both sheep and cattle. There was a steady demand for all classes of sheep, especially for good lambs, which advanced in price. Bidding for cattle was brisk, and a good clearance was made. Quotations : Good luubs 10s 4d to Us 6d, medium lambs 8s to CC, cull lambs 4a Gl, f.m. twes in lamb 10s Gd to 12s lid, empty full-mouth ewes, good condition, 10s lid to lls Gl; forward bullocks £5 12s Cd to ,£G|; forward bullocks £5 12s Cd to £G, Syr bullocks £4 19s, 2yr steers £2 10s to £2 15s, 18mos steers £2, year.ing steers 25s to 20s, good weaners 15s to 20s, medium weaners 8s to 10s, small weaners 5s to 7a, cows and calves 32s Gd to £2 Bs, sfote cows 25s to 32?. WELLINGTON WOOL AND SKIN SALE. Levin & Co., Ltd., report:--On Friday we offerc d 30 bales wool, 2500 -kin •, 200 hides, and a quantity of tallow and homehair. Wool sold at same rates as have been ruling 5 t some sales past. We quote:— Wool.—Coarse ciosshred 9£d to lOd, inferior and log-stained bl-d to 9Jd, piec's and be Piss 7d to 7f J. locks 8d to sd, good lambs’ wool lOd to lid, medium 9J to9|-l, seedy to BJd. Skins.—There is no change to record. We quote : Merinos 9d to 9|d, fine crossbreds 9d to 10J, coarse 9d to 9|d, dead skins 8d to BJd, short wools BtUI to 9Jd, woolly skins, green 5a 6d to 6s 6d, woolly lambs’ skins, green 4s Gd to 5s sd, lambs’ pelts 3s to 3c 10d. Tallow.—Casks 21s 3d, tins 18s, sacks 13s 9d.

Horsehair Is 6d to 2s per lb. Horns 7s to IBs per 100, Hides. Owing to advices of falling markets in Australia, prices fell here Jd. We quote : Ox hides sid to6d, cow 5d to 6fd, cut and slipy hides to Gd, calf skins to 6£d.
