An elephant belonging to an Antwerp naturalist has died after devouring the coni cuts of a portmanteau belonging to liis owner, consisting of two suits of clothes, a silver watch, and a gold chain, A divorce was granted the other day in France to a woman on the ground that her husband was too affectionate. She complained that he continually hugged and kissed her, and declared that she fled to her mother to escape his at* teutions.
