Woodville Rifles.

ANNUAL MEETING

The annual meeting of the Woodville Rifles was held after parade on Friday evening, when there was a good muster of the company. Oapt. Nelson occupied the chair. The annual report and balancesheet were read by Capt. Nelson and adopted. ’ Corpl. Jones was elected secretary for the ensuing year. Sergts. Harding and Boss were elected a finance committee in conjunction with the officers. A ballot was taken for the election of a match committee, and the following were elected : —Color-Sergt. Spinks, Sergts. Tuely, Richards and Harding, and Corpl. Hurst. , The officers were re-elected handicappers. A hearty vote of thanks was given to the following donors of prizes : Messrs Monteith Bros., Saunders, H. Read, D. B. Harris, P. M. Pool, J. Bottomley, W. Lonrie, McKibbin, Rosenberg, D. Jones, C. Tuely, A. Riches, J. V. Lawrence, Turvey and Offwood, Grieves and Thomas, G. P. Smith, and Isles. it was decided to hold a social this year, and the ' following committee was elected The sergeants and corporals, Quartermaster Cairns, Pvts. Tavendale, Brightwell, Owen, Stratton, T. Hughes, and W. H. Hughes. A special vote of thanks was accorded Oapt. Nelson for the use of his ground for the annu l camp, and for his donation of a guinea and two gold and silver medals. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded to Corporal Nicoll for acting as secretary during the past year. Captain Nelson then presented the marksmen’s badges won during the year, and the meeting adjourned.
