PAHIATUA TOWN BOARD.
(From Our Own Correspondent The Board met last evening. Present! Messrs Dawson (chair), H. Sedcole, Best, Wilson, and Burrows. Reference was made to the fact -that builders were acting without regard to bye-laws. The clerk was authorised to issue permits to those who submit plans in accordance with the bye-laws, and to use what discretion is required pending the revision. A long discussion took place with reference to the night-soil difficulty. It was decided to further consider the matter at an adjourned meeting to be held on Monday, 2nd February. TOWN HALL. The Town Hall committee presented a statement of amounts due in the way of rents which the clerk was instructed to recover. It was resolved to prepare specifications &c. for painting the hall also to furnish lamps. A scale of charges was drawn up, and it was resolved to appoint a caretaker.
