TEACHING SHORTHAND.
(From Our Own Correspondent .) Wellington, Last night. An interesting discussion took place at the meeting of the Board of College Governors to-day. A suggestion was made that short-hand should be made a compulsory subject, but it was ultimately decided to leave it optional. The Board further decided however, to instruct the principals of the Girls’ School and College to jdo all in their power to cultivate a taste for shorthand amongst the pupils.
