NEW HEBRIDES. Melbourne, Sept. lu. In reply to a communication from the Governor oi Victoria, asking wheiher a vessel was :i\ tillable ifrr dispatch to the Now Hebrides for the purpose of protecting British interests in those Islands, Admiral Tryon lias stated that two men-of-war are already at the New Hebrides, and he believes the state of affairs there has been exaggerated. KIMBERLEY A FAILURE—MANY DIGGERS IN DISTRESS. Five hundred returned diggers arrived at Port Darwin to-day from the Kimberley goldfields.
