Strictly Ceremonious.
Kosciusko Murphy is one of the most polite and deferential men in the world. Not long since he was sitting at a hotel table at which there were several guests with whom he was not acquainted. They were telling stories and laughing vociferously. Kosciusko never smiled, but after an excruciatingly funny story had been told, and the party were almost speechless with laughter, he leaned over and said timidly—- “ Gentlemen, my name is Murphy, and if you have no objection I would like to chuckle a little myself over that last story.”
