Mose Schaumburg and Ike Levison are rivals in trade, but personally they are very friendly. Being in a good humor, Mose said to Levison: “ Come home mit me and have dinner ?” ‘‘ 1 vas much opliged, put I shoost had some dinner, Mose.” “ Ish dot so?” “ Ya, I has choost dined.” “ 1 don’t pelieve dot ?” “ I hof choost dined—upon my word of honor.” “Yell, den, come along and eat some more. Yen you has choost dined upon your vord oE honor, you must be hungry, as dot vash very light diet.”
