There was something ominous in Mr Bunny's suggestion on Thursday night that a great saving would be effected if Parliament only met once in two ycai's, and an Appropriation Act were passed for that time. Mr Bunny was apparently throwing out a "feeler" for the Ministry, and the House should be on its guard, so that it may not be taken by surprise by any proposal of the kind. Two years ago MrEitzherbci't tried to extoud the Appropriation Act over oighteen months, but that scheme was frustrated, and Last session a pledgo was extorted from the Government not to repeat tho attempt. Forewarned is forearmed. A renewal of the pledge had better be obtained. The country is scarcely prepared to leave its affairs in the hands of Mr'^ifaffdrd fo^d years, by extending the Appropriation Act beyond its legitimate period.
