TOTAL WRECK OF THE MALABAR.

On the 22ud May, the P. and O. Company's steamer Malabar, Captain Granger, from Bombay to China, struck on a rock withiu half an hour of starting. Lord Elgin, Baron Gros and staff, and all the passengers were on board ; uo lives lost ; part of the mail lost; 100 boxes of specie, value £300,000, sunk in the wreck, the despatches all saved — remains a total wreck, masts cut of water, in Galle harbour. The stern moorings parted in a heavy squill, when she swuug and struck on a sunken rook and thim steamed on to soft sand to present her sinking in deep water.
