ANNIVERSARY FETE.

The Sixth Anniversary of this sit 1-ment came off on Thursday last, which was duly celebrated with the accustomed sports a:id fest;v;tier. The morning was very wet and stormy, and it was feared by many would cause a postponement l f the tports; however, towards n .en the day cleared up, and the amusements commenced by t..e rowing match by five oared whiieboats. The Fienchmen came off victorious, winning by nearly a minute. Owing to the boisterous state of the weather the sailing match was postponed until the following day. Hurdle Race.—Gent'emen riders. The horses went off well, taking the first hurdle, the brook being the second jump, which was deep and ugly in appearance, they all refused ; Temperanoe, on being brought to the scratch the second time, got well soused in the water, both she and her rider being nearly overhead, but managed to scramble through ; the others followed pretty nearly the same example. From this, Temperance had the race all to herself, the other horses refusing the jumps. The second heat was a walk over. HACK STAKES. Entrance £l Is., with £10 added by the Committee.
