ACADEMY THEATRE

CURRENT PROGRAMMES Spencer Tracy, Ingrid Bergman, Lana Turner—the most sensational combination of star names of the yeat—in one of the most exciting, thrilling and suspenseful stories in all English literature, "Dr. Jekyll and Mi- Hyde," from the immortal pen of Robert Louis Stevenson. The film will show at the Academy Theatre tonight, to-morrow and on Wednesday. In the dual characters of the good Dr. Jekyll and the evil Mr Hyde, Tracy adds another outstanding role to his Father Edward J. Flanagan of "Men of Boys Town." Miss Turner plays Beatrix Emery, sweetheart of Dr. Jekyll, a spirited girl defiant because convention forces a long engagement before she can wed her lover. Miss Bergman, noted Swedish star, plays Ivy Pearson, bar-room singer, who becomes the object of Hyde's sadistic affections. Tracy has many surprises for his audiences in his portrayals, different from any ever seen of the famous performances given from the day of Richard Manslield. He devoted months of study to the intriguing Stevenson characters, creating his own interpretations of the amazing split personalities.
