He said there was not enough room for alt on the school grounds. The request was granted.

Poorer Students Handicapped

Support of claims for full status for the Auckland School, of Engineering was sought by Mr W. Arthur Gray and others, of Auckland, jn a letter to the Waihi Borough Council at its monthly meeting on Wednesday evening. It was stated that many deserving and able young men could not afford £2OO a year to continue their studies in another centre. On the motion of the Mayor, Mr W. M. Wallnutt, who was seconded by Cr. S. Bonnici, it was unanimously agreed to support the claims. The DeputyMayor, Mr S. M. Hovell, said many people who did.not live in centres where full status was enjoyed experienced great difficulty in putting their children through university. That applied particularly to the. medical faculty.
