Tighten up knitted buttonholes by twisting the loose corner thread over the needle and knitting it in with the first cast-on stitch. At the other end work into the back of the first stitch after the casting on.
Adhesive tape makes the 'best label for jar and Lin on the pantry shelf. If does not need heating, stick it straight on and it will not come off unless pulled off.
Metal tops or lids from small jars which have contained meat pastes make neat stands for sauce or me-dicine-bottles and prevent sticky rings on your shelves.
A set of castors fixed on a small kitchen table saves many steps. For with this wheel-table dirty dishes can be wheeled to the sink arid clean ones to the shelves or cupboards. Wheeled to the oven it is ready for. hot cakes, etc. To make a stepladder safe and prevent it slipping even when used on polished and slippery floors, tack strips of rubber on the bottom of each leg. An old hot-water bottle and even old rubber gloves can be used in this way.
