WAIHI WEATHER REPORT
CONDITIONS DURING MONTH OF SEPTEMBER AIORE WIND THAN IS USUAL Weather conditions during the month of September are reported on by the local Government observer, Mr M. F. Ilaszard, as under:
Barometer: Mean pressure for month (reduced to sea level), 29.9-10 inches; highest reading, 30.18 S inches on the 19th; lowest reading, 29.51-1 inches on the Ist; range, .07-1 inches.
Temperatures: Mean temperature for month in screen, 51.9 cleg. Fall.; highest maximum, (it deg. Fall, on •lie 12th; lowest minimum, 29 deg. Fall, on the 18th; lowest grass minimum, 27 deg. Fall, on the 18th: mean earth temperature 2 feet down, 52. 2deg. Fall. Wind: Total for month, 2055 miles; daily average, 70.8 miles; greatest run in 21 hours, 159 miles on the sth. Kain: Total for month, 0.85 inches; greatest fall in 21 hours, l.tiO inches on the 12th; number of wet days, 15. Sunshine: Total hours of bright sunshine, 171.2 hours; daily average. 5.7 hours; brightest day, 11.8 hours on the 18th; sunless days, 2. Remarks: Temperatures were normal during the month, but a sharp frost of live degrees was recorded on i lie ISth. There was more than (he average amount of wind, principally from the west. The rainfall of 0.85 inches was well distributed over 15 days and brings (he total for the year to date to 02.97 inches. The heaviest fall in 21 hours was 1.0 inches on the 12th.
