OBITUARY
MR FRANCIS POPE Well-known in Wailii for a quarter of a century, Mr Francis (Frank) Pope died in Hamilton yesterday. The late Mr Pope, who was of a genial and kindly disposition, was an Auckland representative in the early days of the Wailii Fire Board, at which time he was on the staff of the State Fire Otlice, retiring on superannuation from the position of Auckland branch manager some years ago. Since then Mr Pope acted as assessor for the State Otlice and paid many visits to Wailii in connection with this work, making many friends. A telegram of sympathy with Mrs Pope in her bereavement lias been sent on behalf of the ! Wailii lire Board by the secretary, I Rr I. T. Fallwell. The funeral will ake place in Hamilton to -morrow I ifternooii. |
