MARTHA COMPANY’S ASSAYS The following information has been cabled to the London office of the Martha Gold Mining Company (Waihi), Ltd.; — No. 3 Level —Lode at S 5 feet north in Taylor’s crosscut driving west: The next 21 feet assays £1 7s 3d per ton. The width of the lode is about three feet. Driving east the next 32 feet assays 12s 9d per ton, width of lode about 3J feet. No. 6 Level —Espir rise on north branch of Martha lode: The next 14 feet is ore of good grade about 3. feet wide.
Golden Dawn Loan—An announcement that the Government has offered a loan of £SOOO to the proprietors of the Golden Dawn gold mine at Owliaroa was made on Wednesday by the Minister of Finance, the Hon. W. Nash. It was stipulated as a condition of granting the loan, said Mr Nash, that the money should be used for development purposes.
