RIFLE SHOOTING
WAIHI DEFENCE CLUB’S WEEKLY MATCHES WINS FOR MUNRO & TREMBATII Members of the Waihi Defence Rifle Club held the final shoot of the season on Saturday last over the 500 and GOO yards ranges, the match being for a trophy and the silver rooster. A tricky cross wind interfered with the scoring, which was headed by Rifleman J. Munro, the details being as follows: J. Munro, 42 at 500 yards and 41 at GOO yards (handicap 2), total 85; F. Brooks, 41 and 35 (8), 84; J. G. Comes, 42 and 39 (1), 82; .1. Wotherspoon, 30 and 39 (G), 81; W. Feather, 43 and 3S (scratch), SI; Vice-President E. Swindells, 32 and 31 (9), 72; P. Finnel, 38 and 30 (4 ), 72; D. Seath, 3 0 and 33 (5), 6S; T. Cornes, 2S and 15 (10), 53. On the previous Saturday the match was at the 200 and 300 yards ranges, and with the shooting under favourable conditions excellent scores were recorded. The trophy was won by President E. Trembath, who, with a handicap of 8 points, put on 100, the details being as,under: E. Trembath, 48 at 200 yards and 45 at 300 handicap 8), total 100; Vice-President E.
