MOTORING REGULATIONS
NATIONALISATION OF TRAFFIC INSPECTION STATEMENT BY MINISTER By Telegraph—Press Association. WELLINGTON, This Day. The nationalisation of traffic regulations and traffic inspection are two of the major provisions in the Motor Vehicles Amendment Bill which the Minister of Transport, Hon. R. Semple, hopes to be able to bring down before Parliament adjourns for the short winter recess. The Minister stated in an interview yesterday that it was essential to have the measure introduced as early as possible as it dovetailed into the Transport Licensing Amendment Bill, now before the House. Mr Semple said that the Bill provides for a nationalised scheme of traffic inspection and a nationalised schedule of traffic laws, which would apply all over the Dominion. There would be one set of by-laws operating from the North Cape to the Bluff. Every driver with a license would receive a copy and it would be seen that he understood them. No matter in what part of the Dominion the motorist happened to be he would know the regulations he had to obey.
