STATISTICS FOR QUARTER TO MARCH 31

NO FEMALE OFFENDERS Forty-one males were either ar> rested or summoned to appear before the Waihi Magistrate's Court during the quarter ended March 31. Of these one was a lad who was dealt with in the Children's Court. No females appeared before the court. Fines imposed amounted to £3O IDs and court fees to £ll 16s. In the civil division 3S new plaints, representing claims totalling .£•172 4s, were issued. Claims disposed of numbered 25, the amount sued for being £477 4s 7d and the amount recovered £33s 0s 4d, or just under 71 per cent. Civil fees totalled £43 3 s. Two sittings of the Warden's Court were held and six mining licenses and 30 miners' rights were granted. The receiver of gold revenue, Mr I. T. Fall well, collected £312 15s lid.
