Damages amounting to £1446 against Henry John Wynne, civil engineer, were awarded to Arthur McSperrin, a waterside worker, by a jury in the Supreme Court yesterday. The plaintiff claimed £5087 6s 7d special and general damages against Wynne and the Wellington Fire Board, the action arising out of an accident at the intersection of Feathorstone and Sunny Streets on the evening of April 18th, when a fir? engine mounted the footpath, striking and injuring McSperrin. Wynne was the driver of the motor car involved in the mishap.
