The House of Representatives continued the discussion in committee stages of the NaPonal Expenditure Adjustment Bill until 6.30 p.m. yesterday.

They did not adjourn either for luncheon or tea and at 2 p.m. the closure was applied to the discussion of the clause reducing South African War pensions and the clause was passed by 40 votes to 31.

Other clauses of Part 2 of the Bill were passed, eacn one after votes, the closest division being on the clause to reduce the rate of certain war pensions which was carried by 38 votes to 34.

The House adjourned at G. 30 until 2.30 p.m. on Wednesday, when consideration will be given in committee to Part 3 of the Bill.
