MINERS' BALLOT
PROGRESS REPORT NORTH WALES REJECTS ACCEPTANCE. THE POSITION IN ENGLAND. 'Australian and N..Fi, Cable (Received November 4, 8 a.m.) LONDON, November 3. The miners' ballot was very close in North Wales, the result being 72,340 for acceptance of the settlement proposals, and 74,425 against. Yorkshire, npparenjy, is largely i a faVour 0I acceptance, whi'e Nottinghamshire is against and Northumberland in Aavour. It is thought there <vill be'a big' majority i'n the' anthracite district agaflist. Durham is generally against, but there nvil|l be big votes in favour of acceptance. Lancashire is 'largely against.
