HEALTH PRECAUTIONS,
COMMISSION’S RECOMMENDATIONS. (Australian and N.Z. Cable.) (Received July 13, 11.30 .a.m.) SYDNEY/this day. The Broken Hill Cbmxnission recommences t)hat in future all persons seeking employment in the mines should be medically examined; that none suffering from tuberculosis ■■ or allied ‘diseases should be allowed to wtrk, either underground or on the surface, and aR workers should be periodically examined. With these precautions the workers’ safety would be ensured.
The commission also examined a number of cases of suspected lead poisoning. Out of 77 examined iti was found that about 50 per cent wore affected bydisease, but complete investigation, could not be undertaken for hookworm, though the Commihsioa failed to discover a single case.
