CONFERENCE OPENED. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) DUNEDIN. this day The 39th session of the New Zealand Grand Council of the Protestant Alliance Friendly Society of Australasia opened yesterday. Twenty-one delegatps from all parts o? the DomjiWJon were present. The secretary stated that the total amount to the credit of the lodges ibr 1919 was £16,063, an increase for the. year of £406. Fortyfour new members were admitted, aind 23 had gr'.ie out. The /Dotal membership of the lodges of Australasia was 39,000, and the accumulated funds £485,461. It was resolved that the headquarters of J the socfdty ,be-moved (to the South Island, and that the headquarters of tlie great 'executive be Dunedin.
