Mr Colebatch, Minister or Education of 'West Australia, lias received from j Vienna a remarkable letter from one j Krauss, who describes himself as a pro- ( fessor of anthropology. Krauss appeals j to the High Director of Instruction in "Wpst Australia, as a connoisseur of fainiininc beauties, for photogiaphs ot several hundreds of the most beautiful women in the State. He means to publish i!a six volumes, with 2000 portraits, an ■’illustrated catalogue of the beauties of all the countries. The ladies must 1)0 ■of irreproachable eharacer, of respectable society, and of beauty that lias moved singers, writers, and composers to enthusiasm. The collection, the professor adds, should also include costumes and tattooing. Photographs i'n the nude are nbt desirable, unless they are artisti c or typical. . Mr. Oolobateh, without referring to Cabinet, declined the request, as he stated he was not qualified in the connoissership. _____
