THE TRANSPORT TRAGEDY
CHARGE AGAINST MARSDEN. ACCUSED ACQUITTED, (By Telegrapti.—Press Association) WELLIKGTON. tab <laj. Sergeant Edward Georga Furlong Marsden was yesterday discharged on the charge oif having 011 26th May unlawfully killed Sergeant-Major Sampci Stanley Choate on the transport Pakeha. Dr. Gordon, who was on the transport, said that he examined Choate's body, and found symptoms which pointed to a fracture of the skull. He was oc opinion that the fracturo was based by a fall and not by a blow. The Bench—Captain Henna and .Mr. Saiek, J's. P.— said that the slippery deck and service boots were contributing J causes of the ■fall, and extended then- j sympathy to Choate's relatives.
