Mr C. T. Bargh, who for several years has occupied the position of railway workshops manager at Petone, was the recipient of a presentation . from the ~ members of the staff this week. M< W. H. Johnston, in presenting M< Bargh with a solid leather suit-case and a smoker’s requisites on behalf of A the employees at the shops, testified to the excellent feeling that had existed between the management and the men during Mr Bargh’s term of office, and the guCst was accorded the best wishes of the staff in his new sphere of duty at the Bastown Railway Workshops, . where he has been transferred as mana* < ger, Mr Bargh suitably replied, and asked that the loyal support that had been extended to him be also given to* his successor, Mr J. Clark. The Hon, J. A. Hanao, M.P. for In*;:-; vercargill and ex-Minister of Education, who was in town on a short visit to his sister (Mrs R. Crockett, Carlton Terrace), left by express yesterday eq route to his southern horns.
