SALE OF RETOLVERS.
A MAGISTRATE’S ’VIEW.
(Per United Press Association.) AUCKLAND. Nov. 20.
At the Police Court, Mr Poynton. S.M., fined Harry Freeman, a steward on the steamer Omana, £lO for selling a revolver to a 'ad under tho of 16. The Magistrate said ho looked upon tho unrestricted sale of revolvers in a country 'ike this as abominable. It was simply a disgrace and a curse to the country.' This class of firearm is made only for killing and maiming human beings, is of no practical use for sporting purposes, and the tragedies, caused by them make a long list. “I would make it an offence for anyone to haw possession of them, without si license,” ho added.
