SALVATION ARMY IN JAPAN

OPEN-AIR MEETINGS FORBIDDEN. Reuter. TOKIO, Nov. 17. Police action forbidding Salvation Army open-air meetings was taken on the ground that the authorities were in possession of evidence to the effect that Salvationist officers preach more politics than religion, and were dangerous elements working under the guise of Christian teachers.

(It was reported from Tokio that gangs of students and others, in the presence of passive military officers and police, broke up Salvation Army gatherins on Sunday in connection with the Army’s semi-jubilee.)
