TOTALISATOR FRACTIONS

RECOMMENDATIONS BY INSPECTOR. ' STRONGLY PROTESTED AGAINST. (Per United Press Association.) . ' WELLINGTON, Nov-. 2. Mr Skerrett, chairman of the Board of Control of the Sports Protection League, has addressed a letter to the Hon. J. G. Anderson stating that “Notwithstanding the convincing reasons already given why the present method of handling totalisator fractions should not lie disturbed, tire Inspector of Totalisator reports that not one sound argument has been adduced why clubs should be allowed to retain these fractions.” Mr Skerrett objects to the publication of such recommendations, and calls on the Minister to stop it. He proceeds to contend that the fractions belong to the people who put the money in the totalisator, and go hack to them per medium of the clubs, who use them for improvements and additions to the stakes. He denies that the clubs retain the fractions at all.
